Board of Director (Voluntary) with Experience in Clinical Care

About the Opportunity:

ACCA is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for a Board member with experience in clinical care to fill a vacant position on the ACCA Board. This is a voluntary position with no remuneration.

The Board member (Director) would be expected to actively participate in Board meetings, an annual strategy workshop, as well as contributing to Sub-Committees or additional work within the scope of the role of the Board.

The Board has particular focus on governance, legal compliance, policy and strategic planning, financial oversight, and risk management. ACCA is currently expanding its service delivery and is placing emphasis on candidates with skills and experience in clinical governance.

The Board member would possess the following attributes:

·         Strong working knowledge of the Aged Care sector including clinical aspects;

·         Experience to provide clinical governance and oversight of the organisation;

·         An understanding of the role as well as legal, ethical and financial responsibilities of the Board;

·         Ability to review the strategy through constructive questioning and suggestions and contribute to the effective decision making of the Board;

·         Ability to read and comprehend accounts, financial reports presented to the Board and financial reporting requirements;

·         Experience in managing areas of major risk to the organisation; and

·         Broad knowledge of Federal and State legislative requirements and how this relates to a not-for-profit organisation.
