Celebrating the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III
To
celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III, ACCA’s
Surry Hills Service Centre held a Coronation Morning Tea with the Cantonese
Aged Day Centre Group on Wednesday 3rd May, 2023. The hall was decked out in
Coronation bunting consisting of Union Jacks, Australian flags, balloons, table
decorations and the official Coronation emblem.
To start
the proceedings on behalf of the Board and the ACCA family, the group was
welcomed by ACCA President, Mr Tim Feng. Mr Feng paid his respects to Her Majesty,
Queen Elizabeth II on her passing whose memory will live long amongst the ACCA
family. However, this day was a day for celebration, so with encouragement from
ACCA’s Board and with the support of ACCA’s Management team, the Surry Hills
Service Centre’s CHSP Coordinators and volunteers organised a “British Themed”
morning tea with biscuits, cakes, scones, group activities and of course, lots
of tea !
Before
the fun and entertainment began, the group was privileged to hear a special
video message from Her Excellency the Hon Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of
New South Wales who is a Joint Patron of ACCA together with her husband Mr
Dennis Wilson. On this historic occasion, Her
Excellency, offered a special greeting to the members of ACCA’s Cantonese Aged
Day Centre Group and thanked ACCA’s members for generously providing services
to the Australian Chinese Community since 1974.
The day
group then proceeded to enjoy their group activities, they also designed their
own crown whilst watching a video of the life of King Charles III. The CHSP
Coordinators and Volunteers put on a fabulous and entertaining morning tea, the
Board and Management thanked them for making the day an outstanding success.
