The ACCA Chinese Language School has been providing quality Chinese Language education for more than 40 years to the community in Sydney. The School has received strong support from the state government as well as the local community. The School’s achievements are often reported in the Chinese newspapers and in social media. The activities held this year included the following - writing competition, school open-day event, teacher's day card design competition (for lower and middle grades), graduation ceremony cover design competition (for older grades). At the National Chinese Eisteddfod competition, in the group events we registered four teams to participate and three of the teams won trophies. In the individual events, 14 of our 31 students who participated in the competition received awards.
This year, our S2S student Yasmin Cheuk was awarded the Merit Certificate (Senior Section) at the NSW Minister’s Awards ceremony and M3 student Maggie Song won the School Excellence Award given by the City of Ryde Council.
The School has earned a reputation for quality teaching. The number of students has increased this year and likewise funding from the state government has increased in tandem. In order to give back to the community, the school has offered scholarships to outstanding students this year for the third consecutive year.
