ACCA held a 2nd seminar on healthy living at the Civic Theatre, Hurstville on 29 June 2022, conducted in Mandarin. This seminar attracted many CALD seniors from the local community.
Shirley Chan, ACCA Vice President, delivered a welcome speech. She mentioned, “ACCA has been serving the Chinese community for more than 40 years. Its services include home care for the elderly, disability care services, Chinese language classes and various lifestyle classes".
Two guests from Georges River Council, Clr Nancy Liu and Clr Benjamin Wang, made brief speeches. They both emphasised the importance of promoting the tradition of respecting the elderly in Chinese culture.
The attendees not only picked up practical health information from the presenters, they also received a gift pack each. There was also a lucky draw for the attendees. Lunch was provided at the end of the seminar. It was another successful seminar by ACCA for the benefit of the CALD communities in the Georges River Council area.
