ACCA’s proposed constitutional amendments were unanimously approved by members at a General Meeting held on Sunday 30th August 2026 at Club Parramatta.
ACCA President, Ms Theresa Liang, declared the General Meeting open at 12.00 pm. A quorum of 140 voting members, including proxies, was registered at the time. Ms Liang briefly outlined to members the main purposes for the proposed amendments to the Constitution:
- The appointment of 2 senior staff as Executive Directors to join the Board of Directors, and 1 Elected Director as Executive Director, and
- To clarify that the minimum age to join as a member is 18 years.
Vice President Shirley Chan assisted with translation from English to Mandarin and Cantonese.
The proposed amendments were approved unanimously by the members without any alterations. The main reasons for the amendments are to strengthen corporate governance and to bring additional technical expertise to the Board, as well as addressing some minor grammatical improvements. The President and directors thanked the members for their attendance at the General Meeting during a very challenging time.
The meeting was declared closed at 12:20 pm. Members then adjourned for refreshments.
