ACCA’s proposed constitutional amendments were unanimously approved by members at a General Meeting held on Sunday 27th July 2025 at Club Parramatta.

ACCA President, Ms Christine Mok declared the General Meeting opened at 12.00 pm after a quorum was registered. Ms Mok briefly outlined to members the main reasons for the proposed amendments to the constitution:

- to remove the Chinese Language School from Objects of ACCA;

- removal of appeals provision for members who have been disciplined,

- more factors to be included for Board’s consideration when applying for membership,

- change in number of councillors from 5 to 3, and term of office of Councillors reduced to 2 years, and

- reduction in the number of office bearers to reflect the composition of the Board members.

Vice President Shirley Chan assisted with translation from English to Mandarin.

The proposed amendments were approved unanimously by the members without any alterations. The members were supportive of the constitutional amendments as they agreed they were necessary to improve the efficiency and overall management of ACCA.

The President and directors thanked the members for their attendance at the General Meeting during a very challenging time.

The meeting was declared closed at 12:13 pm. Members then adjourned for refreshments.
