Dragon Boat Festival 2018 - Home Care Services Division

Friday, 8 June 2018

The Dragon Boat Festival is an important traditional festival for people of Chinese and similar cultural background. The Home Care services department recently hosted a celebratory luncheon for its clients, carers and their families at the Tingha Restaurant in the Parramatta Leagues Club on Tuesday 5th June 2018.

ACCA Home Care staff decorated the restaurant with a festive theme and they also prepared some games and a variety of gifts for the elderly clients. A gracious 93 year old client, Ms Lee had spent months knitting wool scarves of different colours as special gift to everyone present. Ms Lee’s efforts shows the strength of enablement and how our elderly clients maintain a spirit of independence.

Ms Yan Wang, ACCA Head of Home Care Services delivered a welcome speech and greeted everyone warmly. She thanked all our clients and their family members for their support during the year. A popular local Chinese folk singer, Ms Lin Ping sang a few classical songs for the audience, including the “Dragon Boat Tune”. The clients and carers were filled with joy and laughter at the event. Towards the end, there were lucky draws for everyone. ACCA would like to thank our sponsors for the lucky draw prizes, and the sponsors are: Ms Tracy Zheng of Auburn Gift Shop, Mr Xian Hong Wang from AWL Group and the Australia International Elite Cultural and Arts Centre Group.
