ACCA donates $1,000 to drought affected farmers

Wednesday, 26 September 2018

This morning ACCA made a donation of $1,000 to the drought stricken farmers in a cheque presentation ceremony at its Surry Hills head office. The cheque was presented by President Shirley Chan to The Salvation Army Fundraising Team, represented by Andrew Robinson and Vicki Newham. In attendance also were ACCA Treasurer Tim Feng and director Felix Lam.

Andrew Robinson said the money donated will be deposited into a main fundraising account. From this account, the funds will be distributed to the various Salvation Army chaplains located across the drought affected areas in New South Wales and Queensland to assist the farmers and their families.

The board of directors of ACCA is pleased to be able to help our hard-working farmers and their families during this difficult period. We wish our farmers, their families and their local community well in the coming months.

ACCA directors will also be attending a fundraising event on 13 October 2018 in Chinatown to make further contributions towards the drought appeal.

ACCA would also like to encourage its members and the Chinese community to make similar donations to assist our farmers.
