ACCA Elderly Services hosted a Chinese New Year Luncheon on 22 February 2017 to celebrate the Year of the Rooster. The luncheon was held in Sydney’s Chinatown and was attended by more than 350 clients, carers, volunteers, staff and guests.

The celebration began with a lion dance performance which symbolises “power, happiness, longevity and good fortune”. ACCA President, Ms Shirley Chan, greeted everyone “Kung Hei Fatt Choy !” and thanked them for joining this year’s celebration and wished everyone and their family “lots of joy, happiness and prosperity”. President Chan also expressed her gratitude to the staff and volunteers who have worked hard to organise the celebration. In attendance were Vice President Daniel Kwan, director Ms Xiali Zhu and ACCA Council member Bill Ling.

The ACCA Dance Group performed traditional Chinese cultural dances which included a Mongolian Dance, and the elegant and graceful dance “Willow in the month of June”.

There were table prizes for attendees and the “God of Fortune” handed out red packets and wished everyone a blessed and prosperous Year of the Rooster. ACCA would like to thank the following sponsors of table prizes and lucky draws - UNIKC Group, Travel Express Services, Heng Fai Trading Co and NAB Private.
